The Inspiration
Growing up, sisters and co-founders Katie & Sarah were enchanted by the timeless tale of Eloise. Her precocious imagination and adventurous spirit captured their hearts. When the incredible opportunity to align the magic of Bits & Bows with the iconic literary character of Eloise presented itself in late 2024, they recognized the potential to create a truly magical collection inspired by Eloise. By combining their passion for storytelling with Kay Thompson's original literary work of art, Katie & Sarah have brought to life a collection that captures the imagination and charm of Eloise in a unique and enchanting way.
The Design Process
Without a moment's pause, the founding sisters began to develop a dream-come-true – and pink, pink, pink! – collection that respectfully reimagined the iconic character in the form of inspired pieces, each optimally aligned with the Bits & Bows brand’s playfully polished point-of-view. Bringing the pages of Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight’s treasured tale to life actualized as an elevated extension of the key categories of innovative, interactive gifts, jewelry, and hair accessories synonymous with the sister-started brand, and it became an absolutely ever-present challenge to design a collection that would create never-before-seen elements of wearable whimsy capable of capturing a new generation of Eloise’s littlest fans.

Every day and every last detail in the creation of the Eloise™ x Bits & Bows Collection has been a truly remarkable page in an unforgettable chapter for our sister-started company. Each moment has been in celebration and anticipation of the 70th Anniversary of the legendary literature’s publication and has inspired so many unmatched, unforgettable memories… from first licensing discussions of reimagining our original 12 Days of Accessories Gift Set into a fresh — and fun, fun, fun — accessories gift set inspired by the historic residence the city child has always called ‘home’ – to carefully integrating the classic illustrations in contemporary contexts, it has been such a thrill to take this Eloise journey together as sisters and to introduce the pieces of the collection to other Eloise enthusiasts at every step along the way.
